Biography[]

Early life[]

Ma YingTu was born in 1898 in the Yangshiqiao Village of Mengcun County. At an early age, he learned bajiquan with Luo Tuan Zhang Jingxing.

Later life[]

When the Republic of China was established, Ma moved northeast with Fengtu, his brother, to study at Fengtian Police Officer School.

In 1927, when the Nanjing Central Martial Arts Museum was founded by Zhang Zhijiang, Ma was appointed the chief of the museum, military department, and Shaolin Gate.

Ma was known to be a powerful combatant and a passtionate but struct teacher. Some notable students included Li Yuanzhi, He Fusheng, Ma Chengzhi, Niu Zenghua, and Cao Yanhai.
