Usually, there is the concept of "cross" in some types of boxing, such as "cross hand", "cross leg", "cross swing lotus" in Taijiquan, "cross collapse" in Xingyiquan and Bajiquan There are "Cross" and "Cross Hammer", and there are "Cross Feet" and "Cross Change" in Shaolin Boxing. However, these definitions of "Cross" are the external shape of crossed hands, and there is no inner mystery. "Jin" is completely different.
Many experts and scholars have unique and appropriate explanations for the meaning of "Cross Strength". For example, Mr. Liu Yunqiao said:
"The so-called'cross-strength', to put it simply, is the strength created by drawing a cross in the four directions of up, down, left and right."
Mr. Huo Wenxue made a further explanation, speaking more clearly:
"Cross-strength, also known as tetrahedral-strength. The requirements of the exercise are the blue sky above the head, the feet pierced in the yellow spring, and the two elbows and both heads. This means that the movement is up, down, left, and right in four directions, like a'cross' shape. Jin. That is, the internal strength condensed in the dantian is drawn and expanded in all directions to reach the extreme and depth, so the growth of Jin is unlimited."
Mr. Kang Gewu defined "Cross Strength" as follows:
"Cross-strength refers to the strength that is emitted from the center of the body (the pubic region) and stretches outwards in a radial pattern. Because this strength has both horizontal horizontal radiating expansion and vertical vertical radiating expansion, the two sides intersect to form a cross. , Hence the name".
After understanding the superficial meaning of "cross-strength", we can't help but have such questions. The strength methods in other types of boxing are quite specific and rich. For example, Taijiquan has shed, stroke, squeeze, press, pick, row, elbow, and lean. Twenty-five kinds of strength methods such as, sticking, listening, understanding, walking, transforming, attracting, taking, sending, borrowing, opening, closing, lifting, sinking, lengthening, cutting, drilling, and volley; Xingyiquan has cutting, cutting, Twenty-three kinds of strength methods: wrapping, carrying, picking, top, cloud, collar, stepping, flapping, wrapping, binding, absolute, splitting, drilling, collapse, Spearing, horizontal, bright, dark, transforming, horizontal and vertical; Bagua Palm There are also twenty-two kinds of force, such as pushing, belting, collaring, piercing, cutting, cutting, holding, blocking, splitting, bumping, collapsing, stroking, moving, probing, picking, wrapping, buckling, pulling, hooking, picking, cutting, pressing, etc. law. Why does Bajiquan only have three kinds of strength? Moreover, the cross-jin also contains Shen Sui-jin. From this point of view, in fact, Bajiquan has only two types of strength: cross-jin and chuangsijin. To answer this question, we still open the book "Zhou Yi and Chinese Characters" by Mr. Chang Bingyi, and seek an explanation of "cross" from the "yi Li":
"Shuowen" believes that: "one" is east and west, and "l" is north and south. In this way, "the center of the Quartet is prepared", so it says: "ten is the tool of numbering." The so-called "ten is the tool of numbering", on the surface, it seems to say one to ten, counting to ten and complete; in fact, the character "ten" is entirely an expression of the trend of thought in the Yi Xue calendar system. The "ten" character symbolizes the ancient Chinese view of the universe of "time and space unity", that is, north to south, left east to right west. The lower north is winter, the number is one and six; the upper south is summer, and the number is two and seven; the left east is spring, and the book is three and eight; the right west is autumn, and the number is four or nine; the center is long Xia, the number is five or ten. This is the concept of "Nine Palaces" in the famous "He Tu" and "Luo Shu" in ancient times. Therefore, "Shuowen" says that "one" is east and west, and "l" is north and south. In this way, "the four sides are prepared by the center." A simple "ten" character has such infinitely rich temporal and spatial connotations, which fully reflects the simplicity and profoundness of the Chinese character culture.
It can be seen from this that the connotation of the up, down, left and right of the word "ten" is "four poles (a place far from the four directions)", which is fundamentally "Liuhe (six poles)" and "eight poles". "Extremely far in all directions" means.
According to the "Lingshu. Twenty-five People of Yin and Yang": "Between heaven and earth, within Liuhe, one cannot separate from five, and people should follow it." Hetu and Luoshu "Zhongwu" means that the middle five points form nine. The cross of ten degrees intersects, so the connotation of seeing the four images and the origin of the cross is combined with five suddenly emerges. This is the meaning of the image number of "four images are divided into five elements". "He who is in the middle is the great foundation of heaven and earth", "He who is in the five fortunes of the husband and the yin and yang is also the way of heaven and earth. The principle of all things, the parents of change, the beginning of life and death, the house of gods. It doesn't make sense!
The book "Chinese System Thinking" also says: "The universe is the five-element parent system, which extends outwards with four o'clock and five directions as the core. Everything has a five-element subsystem. The parent subsystems have distinct isomorphisms. Relationships and a unified rhythm of movement. Between them and within the five elements, a relatively stable dynamic balance and feedback connection are constantly maintained."
The reason why the eight-pole gate does not quantify the strength method is because the strength method of the door is ever-changing and endless. If the number of deaths is fixed, how can it show its profoundness and infinite changes. Therefore, "Cross Jin" is a "child-mother" system, which can derive an infinite number of Jin methods when separated, such as rigidity, softness, masculine energy, yang energy, internal energy, full energy, accumulation of energy, relaxation, and horizontal Strength, vertical strength, straight strength, elbow strength, lean strength, exert strength, borrow strength, open strength, close strength, lift strength, long strength, short strength, inch strength, cut strength, collapse strength, collision strength, aggressive strength, support Jin, Hua Jin, shaking Jin, twisting Jin, drilling and turning, top pull, sinking, transparent, cold elastic, spiral, volley, etc. At the time of aggregation, all the strength methods are again classified as "cross" strength, which is the so-called "Nine-nine in one life, nine-nine into one", which is completely in line with the gossip "Taiji produces two instruments, two instruments produce four images, and four images produce eight trigrams" The principle of "Lao Tzu" "Dao begets one, one life two, two begets three, three begets everything".
Therefore, the characteristic of "cross-strength" is the strength that radiates from the center to the outside, which means that although it is called cross-strength, it is actually the same up and down direction. It always sinks downwards, but both elbows can be rotated horizontally with the waist and spine as the axis. It can cope with the enemy in all directions. The strength is still three-dimensional and round. From this point, we can also call the "cross strength" "Ten Ji Jin", because the "three-dimensional perfect circle" is the largest number formed by the two sides on the horizontal plane and the vertical plane (ten directions are extremely far away). Its form is ever-changing, it can be rigid or flexible, long or short, offensive and defensible, zero and adjustable, all controlled by our own mind, freely controlled, flexible, weak and weak, we only send "four poles". That's it. When encountering a strong enemy or a wicked person, he will send "Ten Ji Jin" and make him completely defeated. Its artistic conception is far away and reaching its limit, the centrality is unbiased but is connected with the golden mean, and the harmony of nature and man reaches the gods.
The essentials of "cross-strength" are both internal and external. First, we must lay a solid foundation and practice the basic skills. Form, mind, strength, essence, qi, and spirit must be practiced hard, and none of them are indispensable. Before exerting energy, relax all the muscles and joints of the whole body, and feel that the limbs have the meaning of sinking downwards, and then use the mind to introduce the "Eight Heaven and Eight Extremes", that is, the "Hao Ran Righteous Qi (energy)" of the entire universe into the dantian and condense it A group formed a "nuclear reactor". When you want to release it, you will use your mind to detonate the energy group. Make the dantian emit a powerful explosive force, emit a six-sided round force, the head upwards is the top force, the feet downwards is the sinking force, the left and right hands (including the shoulders and elbows) are the support force, the chest The forward movement of the abdomen and the backward movement of the back and buttocks are enthusiasm. There are two ways to use the cross-strength: static force and forward force. When exerting force in place, the strength is equal up and down, left and right, front and rear are equal, each of which is a five-point force, so that you can well grasp the balance of the body and grasp the center of gravity of the body, so as not to lean forward and backward, or tilt left and right to allow the enemy to take advantage. When moving forward and sending cross-strength, the body must have forward and upward inertia. In this way, to ensure the balance of the body and the stability of the center of gravity, the downward-stretching strength of the feet must be greater than the head The push-up force issued from the top, that is, the quarter-strength upwards and the sixth quarter-strength downwards; the bracing strength from the back hand is greater than the bracing strength from the front hand, that is, the sixth quarter-strength to the left and the right Make quarters. This kind of power is quick, far-reaching, short, tough, and transparent. It is combined with blowing and vocalization and external golden bells and iron cloth shirts. Iron palms and iron elbows can hit people on all sides and are invincible. The opponents often have no time to react. , Has been hit to the ground, either dead or disabled. It can be seen that "Tai Chi didn't go out for ten years, but the Baji used to scare people to death" is not a mere mere word.
Regarding the distribution of Cross-Strength, there is also a well-known formula in the eight-pole gate, which is
"The sky above the head is blue, and the feet are tied to the yellow spring. Hold the baby with two elbows on top of the mountain"
This song formula is the inner strength of Baji Zhanzhu, in fact, it is the infinite enlargement and free exercise of the practitioner's spiritual ideas. What it embodies is the connotation and artistic conception of "Shenyou Baji", "Liuhe Longitudinal and Weft", "Harmony of Heaven and Man", and "Six-sided Perfect Circle". Its purpose is to maximize the effect of power release through the extreme expansion and change of mind.
In the theory of the structure of the universe in ancient my country, there is the theory of "covering the sky". This theory was formed at the beginning of the Zhou Dynasty. According to the "Book of Jin. Astronomy Records", "the words and the sky are like a cover, and the earth is like a cover.... The sky is round like a cover, and the place is like a chess game." The Astronomical Records written by Zu Heng of the Southern and Northern Dynasties said: "The theory of covering the sky has three bodies: a cloud sky is like a car cover, swimming in the eight poles; a cloud sky is shaped like a hat, the center is high and the four sides are low; a cloud sky is like a chariot Cover, the south is high and the north goes down.” This statement reflects a stage in ancient people's understanding of the structure of the universe, and has certain historical significance and research value in describing the visible movement of celestial bodies.

"The sky is round like a cover, and the place is like a chess game" is actually the ancient sky round place. "Eight poles" obviously refers to the universe. "Difa cover plate" means that the earth is like an upside-down plate. "Foot piercing the yellow spring" means that both feet are stepping on the ground, and because of the great strength and weight, they have stepped deep underground. "The sky above the head, the feet pierce the yellow spring" are found in Zhuangzi Tian Zifang and Liezi Huangdi Chapter. The original text is:
"He who is the best husband will look up to the blue sky, dive down to the yellow spring, and lash out at the eight poles, with the same air."

It seems that primitive religions can no longer be viewed as the essence of their beliefs, which is the combination of man and nature. Inherited and pushed to the ancestors, in nature, all erect humans are the heaven and the earth, the so-called "stand up to the heavens and the earth."
"Hugging a baby" is said to be the mental method that Wu Rong, the daughter of Wu Zhong, the second ancestor of Bajiquan, experienced during the exercise. Babies are generally held by women. The baby’s body is soft and round. It is like holding a ball in the arms of a Tai Chi practitioner with two arms. Some quan schools call it "Hug Pipa." "Holding the moon in the arms" is actually the same principle, which is to make the top of the head stand upright, hold the chest and back, loose the shoulders and collapse the hips, sink the dantian, and train the body into a six-sided round state. In addition, holding a baby also means "returning to the baby", which is the secret of seeking deep inner strength.
"Two cubits on top of the mountain" means that through the enlargement of spiritual ideas, two cubits can top a mountain. The great thinker of the Eastern Han Dynasty Wang Yun said in "Lunheng. Tantian": "Gonggong and Zhuanxu are invincible in the struggle for the emperor, and anger touches the mountain of impunity, so that the sky is broken, and the earth is invincible. With this power, the world is invincible. , In the battle with the three armies, the soldiers (such as) are also ants, and the soldiers (such as) are also in the air."
The meaning of this passage is that Gonggong and Zhuan Xu were unable to compete with Zhuan Xu for the world’s enemy and were defeated. So in a rage, they knocked down the big pillar against the sky, Bu Zhou Mountain, and caused chaos in the world. With such great power, he will definitely be invincible in the world. If you use this kind of power to fight against the enemy's team, the enemy's soldiers will be like tiny mole crickets and ants, and the swords, guns, swords and halberds used by soldiers are as tiny and weak as vellus hair and fine grass, and they can easily be eliminated and subdued.
It can be seen that "two cubits on top of the mountain" refers to two cubits on top of the pillar. It is also conceivable how tall and powerful is the person who can top the Tianzhu. In connection with the above-mentioned "Gaitian" theory, a person with his head on the sky, his feet on the ground, holding a child in his arms, and two elbows will fall on the top of the sky, all the way to the extreme far away. Isn't this the "Harmony of Heaven and Man"? Isn't this the power of the world? Moreover, "Cangzhou Bajiquan" also said: "Life is influenced by the aura of heaven and earth, and can transform into the world's skills. The sky is the big sky, and the man is the small sky. The sky has the three treasures, the sun, the moon and the stars; the earth has the three treasures, water, fire and wind. ; People have the three treasures of spirit, energy and spirit. Baji martial arts combine heaven, earth and man as one."

This can lower your center of gravity and ensure a stable balance of the body's center of gravity. At the same time, it can also use the kinetic energy and potential energy generated by the body's advance and fall to step on the opponent's foot or knock the enemy out.
