Stephen Ip is a teacher o Wei Family Bajiquan and current headmaster of the Wu Zhong Baji Quan Kung Fu School in Canada.

Biography[]
Stephen Ip 葉子宏 (Ip Chi Wang) was born in Southern China in 1974. He grew up learning several kung fu styles with his main focus on Eagle Claw and Baji Quan kung fu. Also learned some Shaolin kung fu, tai chi chuan and karate among others. Later on, he studied the old style of Xin Yi Liu Hue.
Ip started learning Baji Quan under master Zhao Qi You (趙起有). Zhao Qi You was a student of Master Wei Hong Bin (魏鴻賓) (1909-1975), father of our Grandmaster Wei Jiu Ru (魏九如). Master Zhao passed away in 2000. Shifu Ip continued his apprenticeship with Master Wei Jiu Ru.
Ip founded the Wu Zhong Baji Quan Kung Fu School in 2009, on the south shore of Montreal. However, after 3 years, Ip moved to Toronto and the school was closed down. The school was re-opened years later when he was contacted by a former student and there are now two branches: Montreal and Toronto.
Ip is now a practitioner of the 8th generation of Luotuan hard frame Baji Quan is recognized as 7th degree International Master by the Canadian National Wushu Association and he is also Level 1 Judge of Sanda.
Personal Life[]
In his personal life, Shifu Ip is also a Shugendō Priest and the North American representative of this Japanese religion. However, his martial arts teachings are kept completely separated from his religious beliefs and rituals.
