Wang is a student of Bao YouSheng who had himself studied under student of Xu JiaFu.

He also was involved in demonstrating techniques for the illustrations in the BajiQuan volume of the wushu DuanWei series of book alongside Wu LianZhi and Li ShuDong (李树栋) from Huo family, as well as Zhou XiaoFei (周小飞).
