Biography[]
Wu DaWei was born in Mengcun County, Hebei Province in 1971. His father, Wu Lianzhi, was the 7th generation inheritor of Bajiquan and he followed his father's footsteps in practicing Bajiquan since childhood[1].
Wu began teaching in 1989, he has trained nearly a thousand baji students. He has trained at least 30 outstanding students who have gone on to over 10 eminent schools in China, including Beijing Sport University, Shanghai Sport University, Tianjin Sport University and Hebei Sport University.
International Teaching[]
Wu has been instrumental in the spread of Bajiquan (in particular his family's system) having taught globally since 1992 including in Japan, South Korea, France, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany. He has, in particular, made many visits to France where he helped to found the "Baji League" to teach at the European Bajiquan Gathering since 2010.

His apprentice Wang He once won the master champion in the 2009 "Wulin Conference" Baji Boxing Competition.
His disciple Wu Shenghui also won the champion in the "Bajiquan Shenzhou Challenge" 60kg competition held in Cangzhou in 2010.
Notable Students[]
In 2012, Mr. Wu Dawei led the Mengcun team to win the team championship in the "Sino-British Competition". His son Wu Hao also won the title of "Top Ten Martial Artists" in the martial arts competition held in Cangzhou, Hebei, and in the same year In the 9th National Wushu Hometown Competition, he won the first prize of Taolu and the second prize of equipment.
